The Role

ISP isn't just building a school. We're building a brand that makes parents rethink everything they assumed about education, and makes student-athletes realize there's a better way.

Our social media is where that story lives — daily content across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and X that mixes learning science, athlete culture, Iowa pride, and the kind of content that makes people stop scrolling.

We have a content engine unlike anything in education: 600+ knowledge components across nutrition, sports psychology, financial literacy, and academics. We use AI to generate images, draft posts, and analyze performance. Your canvas is massive, your tools are cutting-edge, and your audience is every Iowa family with a student-athlete.

What This Actually Looks Like

1Create content that educates and inspires

You'll produce daily posts — myth vs. reality cards, quick-tip graphics, athlete spotlights, carousel breakdowns of learning science concepts, and behind-the-scenes content. Every post teaches something real while building the ISP brand.

2Build the athlete community before doors open

ISP launches Fall 2026. Your job is to make Iowa families feel like they're already part of something. Engage with comments, DMs, local sports communities. Find the conversations happening about school choice, ESAs, and student-athlete life — and bring ISP's voice to them.

3Experiment and learn (the 4 E's)

We practice what we preach. ISP's learning model is built on the 4 E's: Experiment (try formats), Explain (articulate why things work), Expense (analyze the cost/ROI), External (teach others what you learned). This isn't a "post and pray" internship — it's a masterclass in content strategy.

4Work with real data and AI tools

ISP uses AI-powered content generation, batch image creation, and analytics dashboards. You'll get hands-on experience with tools most interns only read about — OpenAI image generation, automated content pipelines, knowledge graph-driven content strategy.

5Shape the voice

ISP's tone is direct, research-backed, and athlete-native. Not corporate. Not preachy. Not "Hello, fellow kids." You'll help define what that sounds like across platforms — and your best ideas will become the standard.

You Should Apply If

  • You're a student or recent grad who studies social media, not just scrolls it
  • You played or play sports and understand athlete culture from the inside
  • You can write captions that sound human, not corporate
  • You have opinions about what makes content good — and you can defend them with reasoning, not just vibes
  • You're excited about education even though the system probably frustrated you personally
  • You want an internship where you actually build something, not fetch coffee or update spreadsheets
  • You're comfortable with AI tools and excited about using them creatively

You Shouldn't Apply If

  • You want a passive internship where someone tells you exactly what to post
  • You think social media is just about aesthetics with no strategy behind it
  • You're not willing to engage with real communities and respond to real people
  • You have zero interest in education or how people learn
  • You think AI is cheating — we think it's a superpower when used well

Your Background Might Include

1

Marketing, communications, or journalism students with social media portfolios they're proud of

2

Student-athletes who already create content about their sport or training

3

Anyone with a TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube channel they've grown themselves

4

Self-taught content creators with strong writing and visual instincts

5

Iowa-based preferred (but not required) — understanding Iowa culture is a genuine advantage

6

Recent grads looking for a portfolio-building opportunity with a real brand

How to Apply

Rolling applications. Start date flexible — immediate for the right person.

01

Show us your work

Send an email with links to your social media accounts, content you've created, or a portfolio. Tell us which ISP topic (nutrition, sports psych, financial literacy, academics) you'd most want to create content about — and why.

02

Content challenge

We'll give you one ISP knowledge component (a real fact from our curriculum) and ask you to create 2-3 posts for different platforms. No rules on format — carousel, Reel, thread, infographic — whatever you think works best. This is how we see your creative instincts.

03

Strategy conversation

Walk us through your content challenge choices. Why that format? Who's the audience? What would you test next? We're not looking for the "right" answer — we're looking for someone who thinks about content strategically, not just aesthetically.

Ready to start?

Step 1 is just an email. Tell us who you are, why ISP excites you, and what you'd bring. No cover letter template. Just be real.
